La Roca Christian School

Highslide JS

Jose Galvez, Lima, Peru

Adding a grade each year, La Roca Christian School continues to grow with greater potential to impact the lives of children and their families in Lima, Peru. The school started with the purpose of providing a Christian education to children, while using the education opportunity as an evangelistic outreach to the families.

The doors of the school opened in March 2005, and the first 20 children from the community of Jose Galvez were welcomed into the program. The school has completed the foundation of the entire Kindergarten program, K3-K5, and 2009 marks the beginning of second grade, which is comprised of the 20 original children. Studies are taught 60 percent of their curriculum in English by World Reach teacher missionaries and 40 percent in Spanish by local teachers.

With the school adding a grade each year, the building is filling up quickly and only has capacity to hold students through this year’s second grade class. World Reach developed plans for a new facility that will house the rest of the classes, third through sixth grades. The building plans also include a computer room for the children, a library and office space. The projected time of construction is about seven and a half months. Please pray with us that the funding for this project will be provided in a timely manner.

The vision of the La Roca Christian School is to see Christian schools in the entire country of Peru be biblical in their teaching and staff, give an excellent bilingual Christian education and reach children and their families with the gospel of Jesus Christ. The staff at La Roca also hopes to eventually have a full high school program and start the first Christian University in Lima.
