Encouragement and Spiritual Growth in Peru - May 2008

Tim and Carol Prewitt, along with their grandson, Timothy, traveled to Peru for nine days of ministry. The trip included venues of teaching, preaching, training, evangelism through sports and administrative work. As the Word of God was shared, hearts were encouraged and challenged as the truth of scripture became alive.

Timothy used lacrosse as a segway into the Gospel when he shared his testimony and his experiences as a 16 year old high school student. (He shared some of his testimony in Spanish!) Lacrosse is a strange sport to the Peruvian culture; however, the kids were thrilled to learn something new. Timothy made a host of new friends while renewing acquaintances from his two previous trips.

Carol was a huge help to the office staff as she taught them new accounting procedures, which helps streamline their bookkeeping. Her ministry of encouragement to the ladies was significant as she invested time with them and shared her experiences as a believer, wife, mother and grandmother. She was able to provide good premarital advice to a staff couple who will be married in September.

Tim was busy with teaching and preaching. He taught on the theme of “Leaving a Legacy” in the one-on-one and small groups. The mission has four interns in Peru, which provided a great opportunity for encouraging them in “Knowing and Understanding the Will of God.” The whole trip provided innumerable opportunities to watch God make “spiritual deposits” into the lives of these wonderful people. And, to think, He uses us!!
