Education should help us become whole people, whole souls, thoughtful people of good character who transform their families and their communities. But the schools in many of our communities proceed as if education was the mere acquisition of information and as if character formation can be tacked on to the curriculum as one more subject. In an attempt to address this reality we are in the process of creating a youth center which will assist in the true education of the youth of Siquatepeque. The center will use creative expression as an opportunity for this formation.
